Accounts Officer

Job Description
- Our client is seeking to hire a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Officer to join our Finance team.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Company's day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, monitoring project expenses, and ensuring compliance with statutory and internal financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accurate and up-to-date accounting records, ledgers and journals.
- Prepare payment vouchers, receipts, invoices and other accounting documents.
- Ensure all transactions are properly authorized and supported with relevent documentation.
- Process supplier, subcontractor and vendor invoices.
- Verify invoices against purchase orders, delivery notes, contracts and other supporting documents.
- Maintain proper documentation of all reconciliations.
- Reconcile ledger, supplier, customer and other relevant accounts.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Monitor petty cash and ensure proper retirement of advances.
- Assist with payroll preparation.
- Support the processing and documentation of statutory deductions and remittances, including PAYE, Pension, VAT and WHT as applicable.
- Handle weekly and monthly financial reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- 2–3 years’ accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry.
- Experience using Quickbooks accounting software is very essential.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Vlookup and PivotTable is an added advantage.
- Good understanding of project accounting and cost control.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Candidate must be residentof Lekki-Epe andits environs.
