Job Overview
- The Fleet Officer is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the company's vehicles and drivers to ensure that the fleet is safe, roadworthy, properly maintained, and available for operations.
- The role also involves monitoring vehicle movements, maintenance, fuel usage, documentation, and driver compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the daily activities and movement of company vehicles and drivers.
- Ensure vehicles are properly maintained, serviced, and available for operations.
- Schedule and follow up on preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
- Monitor vehicle faults and ensure repairs are promptly addressed.
- Track fuel consumption and investigate unusual or excessive usage.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicles, maintenance, repairs, fuel, mileage, and related expenses.
- Monitor drivers' compliance with company policies, speed limits, safety procedures, and operational instructions.
- Track vehicle trips, breakdowns, accidents, delays, and other fleet-related incidents.
- Report vehicle breakdowns, accidents, damages, and other incidents to management promptly.
- Maintain an updated fleet database and provide regular fleet reports to management.
- Embark on rescue operations and vehicle recovery when required.
- Monitor driver availability and ensure fleet performance targets are achieved.
Requirements
- Education: OND/HND/Bachelor's degree in Transport Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in fleet management, transport operations, logistics, or a related role.
- Good knowledge of vehicle maintenance and fleet operations.
- Good knowledge of road safety and traffic regulations.
- Strong record-keeping and reporting skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to operational issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other basic office applications.
Salary
N200,000 - N250,000 Monthly.
