Security Officer

Job Description for Security Officers in a Shopping Mall Position: Security Officer Job Purpose To provide a safe and secure environment for shoppers, tenants, employees, and visitors by protecting lives and property, preventing crime, responding to emergencies, and enforcing the mall's security policies. Key Responsibilities Patrol the shopping mall, including entrances, exits, parking areas, loading bays, and common areas. Monitor customer and staff activities to prevent theft, vandalism, and other criminal acts. Control access to restricted areas and verify authorized entry. Screen bags, deliveries, and vehicles where required. Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, accidents, and security incidents. Monitor CCTV systems and report suspicious activities to the Control Room. Provide visible security presence to deter criminal behavior. Assist customers with directions, lost-and-found inquiries, and general information. Handle lost children and reunite them safely with their guardians. Manage crowd control during busy periods, promotions, and special events. Enforce mall rules and regulations professionally and courteously. Prepare accurate incident, occurrence, and daily activity reports. Liaise with the police, fire service, ambulance, and mall management during emergencies. Assist in emergency evacuation procedures when necessary. Report safety hazards, damaged property, and maintenance issues immediately. Protect tenants' assets and support loss prevention efforts. Basic report writing skills. Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays. Good physical fitness. Qualifications Minimum of SSCE or equivalent. Previous security experience is an advantage.
