Mechanical Workshop Manager

Job Description
- We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Mechanical Workshop Manager to lead and oversee the operations of our automotive mechanical workshop in Abuja.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the mechanical workshop.
- Supervise, coordinate, and motivate technicians and workshop staff.
- Diagnose and oversee repairs, servicing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of vehicles.
- Ensure all jobs are completed efficiently, safely, and to a high professional standard.
- Monitor workshop productivity, job quality, turnaround time, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of workshop tools and equipment.
- Review and approve technical repair recommendations and estimates.
- Maintain accurate workshop records, job cards, and maintenance reports.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and workshop operating procedures.
- Identify training and development needs for workshop personnel.
- Work closely with the Service Advisors, Parts Department, and Management to ensure smooth operations.
- Control workshop resources and minimize unnecessary costs and wastage.
Requirements
- Relevant technical qualification/certification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in automotive mechanical workshop operations.
- Proven experience managing a team of mechanics/technicians.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, servicing, and repairs.
- Experience with modern vehicles and automotive diagnostic equipment.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience in a reputable automobile dealership, workshop, or automotive service centre is an advantage.
