Sales Officer

About the Job
- They are seeking a Sales Officer who will be responsible for driving sales growth and building strong relationships with customers.
- The role involves identifying and developing new business opportunities, promoting and selling the company’s products or services, maintaining existing customer relationships, following up on leads and inquiries, meeting sales targets, preparing sales reports, and contributing to the overall achievement of the company’s sales objectives.
Responsibilities
- Identify potential customers through referrals, digital campaigns, trade shows, and partnerships.
- Build a pipeline of residential, commercial, and industrial prospects.
- Educate clients on the benefits of solar energy (cost savings, sustainability, reliability).
- Conduct site visits and feasibility assessments.
- Prepare customized quotations and solar system designs.
- Highlight ROI, payback period, and long-term savings in proposals.
- Negotiate pricing, financing options, and contract terms.
- Secure signed agreements and ensure smooth handover to operations.
- Maintain long-term relationships for repeat business and referrals.
- Provide after-sales support and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing trends, and customer preferences.
- Identify emerging opportunities in residential, commercial, and government sectors.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
- Have 2–3 years of proven sales experience in a B2B or B2C environment, with a track record of consistently meeting or exceeding targets. Experience in solar, power, FMCG, financial services or any field-sales-heavy industry is a strong plus.
- Have built and managed a sales team or agent network before — or can clearly demonstrate the recruiting, coaching and people-management instincts required to build one quickly.
- Communicate exceptionally well, both verbally and in writing. You listen actively, present confidently, and adjust your style to suit a homeowner, an SME owner or a corporate procurement manager.
- Are self-motivated, target-driven and resilient. You handle rejection without losing momentum and find energy in hitting and exceeding quotas.
- Are comfortable with field work in Lagos, including site visits, customer meetings and managing agents on the ground.
- Have strong CRM hygiene and a respect for data — you'd rather log a call now than forget the details later.
