Laundry / Cleaning Service Manager

Responsibilities
Operations Management:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the laundry and cleaning service.
• Ensure all laundry and cleaning jobs are completed efficiently, accurately, and on schedule.
• Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for washing, drying, ironing, folding, packaging, and cleaning services.
• Monitor the quality of finished laundry and cleaning work.
• Ensure proper handling, identification, storage, and return of customers' items.
• Monitor the use and condition of laundry machines, cleaning equipment, tools, and facilities.
• Coordinate pickup and delivery services where applicable.

Staff Management:

• Train, supervise, and evaluate laundry and cleaning staff.
• Prepare staff schedules and allocate duties appropriately.
• Ensure employees follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Monitor staff productivity, attendance, punctuality, and performance.
• Address staff issues and provide coaching where necessary.
• Promote teamwork, professionalism, and good customer service among employees.

Quality Control:

• Maintain high standards of laundry and cleaning quality.
• Inspect completed orders to ensure they meet company and customer expectations.
• Identify and resolve issues such as stains, damage, discoloration, missing items, or improper cleaning.
• Implement quality-control procedures to minimize complaints and rework.
• Ensure customer belongings are handled carefully and responsibly.

Customer Service:

• Maintain professional relationships with customers and respond promptly to inquiries and complaints.
• Resolve customer complaints and service issues professionally.
• Ensure orders are accurately recorded, tracked, and delivered within the agreed timeframe.
• Gather customer feedback and identify opportunities to improve service quality.
• Support customer retention and business growth initiatives.

Inventory & Cost Control:

• Monitor stock levels of detergents, chemicals, packaging materials, cleaning supplies, and other consumables.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels and prevent unnecessary wastage.
• Monitor operational expenses and identify ways to reduce costs without compromising quality.
• Maintain accurate records of supplies, equipment, and materials.
• Work with management and suppliers to ensure timely procurement of necessary items.

Health, Safety & Hygiene:

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and environmental requirements.
• Ensure cleaning chemicals are properly stored, labelled, and handled.
• Ensure employees use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Report equipment faults, accidents, incidents, or safety hazards promptly.

Reporting & Administration:

• Maintain accurate records of customer orders, sales, expenses, inventory, staff performance, and equipment maintenance.
• Prepare regular operational and performance reports for management.
• Monitor key performance indicators such as order turnaround time, customer complaints, repeat customers, wastage, and operational costs.
• Assist management with budgeting, planning, and business development activities.
