Hotel Internal Auditor

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of all hotel income and expenses.
• Monitor daily sales, revenue, cash collections, POS transactions, and bank deposits.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
• Reconcile cash, bank accounts, POS, and other payment channels.
• Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Process payroll and ensure accurate salary calculations.
• Prepare and monitor budgets and financial forecasts.
• Control hotel expenses and identify areas of unnecessary spending.
• Monitor stock, purchases, and inventory costs.
• Ensure proper documentation for all financial transactions.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports.
• Ensure compliance with tax, statutory, and accounting requirements.
• Liaise with auditors, banks, suppliers, and management when necessary.
• Implement and maintain strong internal financial controls.
• Detect and report financial irregularities, fraud, or discrepancies.

Qualifications Required

• B.Sc. / HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or ANAN is an added advantage.
• 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Experience with hotel / POS systems is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet reporting deadlines.
