Business Development Officer

Role Overview
- Accrete is expanding its footprint across the upstream oil and gas sector, and we are looking for candidates to join us on this drive.
- You will own client relationships end-to-end, shape how we go to market, and see your ideas turn into signed engagements and visible brand growth.
- Within your first year, you will have a real say in how Accrete positions itself to clients across the upstream oil industry.
What You Will Own
You will own four connected areas of the business development role, each building your competence toward the next:
Client Growth and Relationships:
- You will identify and pursue new business opportunities, build client engagement plans, and become the trusted point of contact who expands accounts over time.
- You will see the direct line between the relationships you build and the deals that close.
Brand and Market Presence:
- You will shape and execute digital marketing initiatives across LinkedIn, Facebook, and email, with real autonomy over content and campaign direction, then track what resonates and refine it.
Market Intelligence:
- You will research industry trends, competitor activity, and client needs, translating research into insights that directly inform Accrete's strategy.
- Your analysis will be reviewed and acted on by leadership, not filed away.
Events and Representation:
- You will coordinate and represent Accrete at industry workshops, trainings, and exhibitions, building your own professional network within the oil and gas ecosystem as you do.
- You will also maintain accurate pipeline and performance data and contribute regular insights that shape how the team operates.
What Success Looks Like
- We set clear, specific, and challenging targets together, not just a sales number, but visible milestones: qualified leads generated, new clients onboarded, market reports delivered, and campaigns launched.
- You will always know exactly where you stand and what the next milestone is.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Management, Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Minimum of Second Class Upper (2:1) or equivalent (relevant experience will be considered if below 2:1)
- A master's degree in a related field is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 2 years' proven experience in business development, sales, marketing, or client relationship management, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
- Not more than 30 years of age as at 31st December 2026.

- Confident presentation and public speaking.
- Strong negotiation, persuasion, and networking ability.
How You Will Grow
- A structured 90-day onboarding pairs you with the Business Development Manager to build your understanding of Accrete's service lines (Software Deployment, Technical Consultancy, Training) before you are expected to run client conversations solo.
- Quarterly goal-setting reviews with your manager set clear, specific targets — not vague expectations — so you always know what strong performance looks like and get direct feedback on your progress.
- High performers are considered for the Senior Business Development Officer role, with a clear path toward Business Development Lead and Manager for those who show strategic ownership.
- You will have access to mentorship from Accrete's technical consultants, giving you exposure to the engineering side of the business.
