Job title : GM, Human Resources (Manufacturing)

We are seeking to hire a Senior Strategic Human resources manager who will provide strategic and operational HR leadership for a group of Manufacturing verticals , for a group of companies with several verticals. This role will be reporting to the Group  Chief People Officer and partnering with senior business leadership to align people strategy with business objectives. The role will drive organizational capability, strengthen leadership effectiveness, oversee talent management and employee engagement, promote labor stability and regulatory compliance, and foster a high-performance culture across multiple verticals in three African countries .

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic HR & Business Partnering

• Translate Manufacturing business priorities into effective people strategies and workforce plans.
• Provide strategic HR advice to the CPO and senior Manufacturing leadership.
• Oversee workforce planning, organizational design, and HR priorities across Manufacturing operations.

Talent, Leadership & Employee Engagement

• Lead talent management, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.
• Drive employee engagement, retention, and performance management.
• Build a strong and sustainable talent pipeline for critical Manufacturing roles.
• Support leadership capability and internal talent development.

Employee & Labour Relations

• Maintain constructive employee and labour relations across Manufacturing operations.
• Manage employee relations matters, disciplinary processes, grievances, and workplace issues.
• Promote labour stability, employee wellbeing, and a positive workplace culture.
• Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws, regulations, and Group HR policies.

Organizational Effectiveness & Change

• Lead HR support for organizational change, transformation, and business growth initiatives.
• Strengthen organizational effectiveness and workforce productivity.
• Support the implementation and adoption of Group-wide HR initiatives within the Manufacturing business.

HR Operations & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure effective and consistent HR service delivery across Manufacturing operations.
• Drive HR process improvement, automation, and effective use of HR technology.
• Promote data-driven HR decision-making and accurate HR reporting.
• Ensure effective implementation of Group HR policies, systems, and processes.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Management, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CIPM, CIPD, SHRM , or an equivalent HR qualification.
• 15–20 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role.
• Proven experience leading HR within a manufacturing, industrial, multinational, or similarly complex business environment .
• Strong experience in employee and labour relations, talent management, leadership development, workforce planning, and HR governance.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with C-suite executives, business leaders, and senior management.
• Experience managing HR across multiple locations, sites, or countries is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of Manufacturing workforce dynamics and operational HR requirements.
