About VFAxAPP
This role is for a highly motivated Content Marketing Intern. You'll be instrumental in building the entire content engine from scratch for two distinct brands, defining their voice, strategy, and execution to drive authority and leads.
We have zero content infrastructure, and you're the person to build it all. You'll own the content strategy, define the brand voices for our brands, launch our newsletter, and turn every insight into lead-generating content. This isn't just writing; it's about building and owning the entire content machine from 0-to-1.
What you'll do
- Define and manage a monthly editorial calendar for both brands.
- Write and launch a monthly newsletter, growing the subscriber base to 200+ with a 30%+ open rate in 90 days.
- Curate third-party insights and produce quarterly research assets (e.g., 'State of AI Recruitment in Africa' report).
- Develop a robust pipeline to transform event outputs into 8+ distinct content pieces per event.
- Brief the Social Media Manager on content repurposing strategies for various channels.
- Build a brand voice guide for both VettedAI and VFA.
Requirements
- You've got content writing experience with a published portfolio to prove it.
- You have a knack for planning and shipping content on a schedule, demonstrating strong editorial calendar management.
- You're a research whiz, able to synthesize complex data into original takes, not just summaries.
- You're proficient with newsletter platforms (Substack, Mailchimp, Beehiiv) and can craft clear, engaging English prose without corporate fluff.
- You actively leverage AI tools (Claude/ChatGPT, Perplexity, Canva AI) in your workflow, demonstrating 10x productivity.
- You have strong knowledge of the HR/recruitment industry or adjacent fields like staffing or talent tech.
Nice to have
- Experience managing two distinct brand voices.
- Familiarity with the Africa tech/HR ecosystem.
- Skills in data storytelling, including charts, infographics, and report layouts.
- Prior experience directing a social media manager or content assistant.
