Impact Research Analyst

Job Description

• The Impact Research Analyst will support the Strategy & Special Projects Unit by generating actionable insights through market intelligence, impact research, client research, and regulatory analysis.
• The role will be responsible for monitoring market and competitive trends, measuring and reporting social impact, gathering client and user insights, and translating research findings into recommendations that support strategic decision-making, product development, regulatory preparedness, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct market and competitive research to monitor competitor products, pricing, fees, customer segments, digital lending practices, and emerging trends within Nigeria's microfinance and financial services sector.
• Monitor macroeconomic, industry, demographic, and informal-sector trends, synthesizing key developments into concise reports and executive briefs for management and the Strategy Unit.
• Identify emerging market opportunities and underserved customer segments by combining market intelligence, policy developments, customer insights, and industry trends to support new product and business opportunities.
• Design and coordinate impact research and data collection to measure outcomes such as household income improvement, women's empowerment, job creation, business resilience, and other relevant social impact indicators.
• Prepare periodic Social Performance and Impact Reports aligned with relevant international impact and social-performance frameworks, providing credible evidence for management reporting and engagement with development finance institutions and other stakeholders.
• Conduct client and user research through surveys, interviews, focus groups, field studies, and other research methods to understand client needs, pain points, digital adoption barriers, and product experience.
• Translate client feedback and research findings into actionable recommendations that can inform product development, service improvements, customer experience, and strategic initiatives.
• Monitor regulatory and policy developments from the Central Bank of Nigeria and other relevant regulatory bodies, assessing their potential implications, risks, and opportunities for the organization.
• Prepare research briefs, policy papers, intelligence reports, and management presentations to support strategic planning, executive decision-making, industry engagements, and policy discussions.
• Leverage data analytics, research tools, and AI-enabled technologies to improve research efficiency, automate information monitoring, identify emerging trends, and communicate insights effectively to management and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field with 1 – 2 years of experience in Marketing, Sales, Finance, Data Analytics, or related roles.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Query, and MS Office applications.
• Ability to work with and analyze large datasets.
• Proficiency in Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms is an added advantage.
• Ability to clearly communicate and explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to effectively work with AI tools and emerging technologies to support research, analysis, and reporting.
• Ability to translate analytical findings into actionable product and business strategy recommendations.
