Digital Storyteller - Content & Media

Job Summary

• We are seeking a creative and highly driven Digital Storyteller to document our work, communicate our impact, and shape how the SafeNest brand is seen, heard, and experienced.

Job Purpose

• The Digital Storyteller will capture real activities across our farms, field operations, customer engagements, and office environment, transforming them into compelling written, visual, and video content.
• This is not a routine desk-based content role.
• The successful candidate must be comfortable identifying strong stories, travelling between locations, capturing moments as they happen, and creating content that attracts attention, builds trust, and drives audience engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Create engaging articles, stories, captions, scripts, and other written content.
• Capture high-quality photographs and short-form videos using a phone or camera.
• Document activities across farms, field locations, customer engagements, events, and the office.
• Develop creative content for social media and other digital platforms.
• Interview farmers, customers, team members, partners, and other stakeholders.
• Edit and package photos and videos for maximum engagement and reach.
• Maintain a consistent content calendar and publishing schedule.
• Work closely with internal teams to identify stories, achievements, and activities worth documenting.
• Ensure all content reflects SafeNest’s voice, values, and brand standards.
• Monitor content performance and recommend improvements based on audience response.

Candidate Requirements

• Candidates should possess a B.Sc Degree with 2 - 5 years experience. 
• Strong writing, storytelling, and communication ability.
• Experience creating content for brands, organisations, media platforms, or personal projects.
• Skilled in photography and video creation using a smartphone or camera.
• Solid video-editing and graphic-design skills.
• Ability to turn technical or everyday activities into simple and engaging stories.
• Strong creative judgement and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage a content schedule, and meet deadlines.
• Comfortable working across office, farm, and field environments.
• Willingness to travel within Port Harcourt and surrounding areas when required.

Preferred Skills

• Experience managing social media content.
• Familiarity with tools such as CapCut, Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar platforms.
• Experience covering events, interviews, field activities, or documentary-style content.
• Interest in agriculture, sustainability, community development, or the circular economy.
• Ability to appear on camera or conduct on-camera interviews is an advantage.

Salary
N200,000 per month.
