Role Overview

• The Head of Strategy & Growth serves as FoodCo's internal strategy office and venture incubation engine. The role is responsible for identifying growth opportunities, translating corporate strategy into executable initiatives, rapidly validating new business ideas through structured experimentation, and packaging successful concepts for enterprise-wide deployment through the Chief Transformation Officer. The role bridges strategic thinking and commercial execution by ensuring that every major strategic initiative is evidence-based, commercially viable, financially attractive, and operationally scalable before significant organizational resources are committed. Unlike a traditional strategy function, success is measured by the number of strategic initiatives that successfully become scalable businesses, not the number of presentations produced. Strategic Mission To build FoodCo's next generation of growth engines by identifying opportunities ahead of competitors, rapidly validating commercial concepts, and creating scalable business models that accelerate sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner directly with the CEO to translate FoodCo's long-term vision into enterprise strategic priorities.
• Conduct strategic reviews of business performance, competitive positioning, and emerging market opportunities.
• Develop strategic options papers and decision frameworks for Executive Management.
• Facilitate annual strategic planning, quarterly business reviews, and strategic off-sites.
• Monitor execution of enterprise strategic priorities and recommend course corrections.
• Prepare Board-quality strategy papers, business cases, and executive presentations.
• Identify new revenue streams, customer propositions, and business model innovations.
• Design and execute rapid commercial experiments to validate strategic hypotheses.
• Lead proof-of-concept initiatives for new products, services, channels, and operating models.
• Apply Lean Startup and Agile methodologies to reduce investment risk before scale.
• Develop investment cases for promising growth initiatives.
• Evaluate opportunities for strategic partnerships, acquisitions, or adjacent business expansion.
• Monitor enterprise performance against strategic objectives and growth targets.
• Analyze business trends, market dynamics, customer insights, and competitive intelligence. ▪ Identify performance gaps and recommend strategic interventions.
• Develop executive dashboards highlighting strategic KPIs and enterprise risks.
• Conduct post-implementation reviews to evaluate initiative performance and lessons learned.
• Lead CEO-sponsored strategic initiatives requiring enterprise-wide coordination.
• Establish governance structures, milestones, and executive reporting for strategic projects.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across Operations, Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, HR, Technology, and Marketing.
• Resolve cross-functional barriers that impede strategic execution.
• Ensure projects remain aligned with strategic objectives and financial expectations.
• Design rapid market pilots to test customer demand, pricing, promotions, formats, and operating models.
• Develop minimum viable business models (MVBs) before enterprise investment.
• Validate commercial assumptions using customer feedback and operational data.
• Scale successful concepts into implementation-ready initiatives.
• Terminate unsuccessful pilots quickly through disciplined, evidence-based decision-making.
• Develop structured initiative playbooks for successful pilots.
• Package validated initiatives with operating models, financial assumptions, implementation plans, KPIs, and risk assessments.
• Conduct formal transition sessions with the Chief Transformation Officer.
• Support early implementation until operational ownership is fully transferred.
• Monitor post-transition performance to validate expected value realization.
• Prepare Board, CEO, and Executive Committee strategy updates.
• Produce executive-quality reports, investment cases, and decision papers.
• Maintain FoodCo's enterprise initiative portfolio.
• Establish governance frameworks for strategic initiatives.
• Ensure strategic initiatives remain aligned with enterprise priorities.
• Recommend enterprise strategic priorities.
• Initiate approved strategic pilots.
• Establish cross-functional project teams.
• Recommend discontinuation of unsuccessful pilots.
• Recommend capital allocation for strategic experiments.
• Escalate strategic risks to the CEO.
• Recommend enterprise-wide implementation following successful validation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Strategy, or related discipline.
• MBA from a reputable institution is strongly preferred.
• Professional certifications in Strategy, Project Management (PMP), Lean Six Sigma, Agile, or Management Consulting are advantageous. Profile
• Minimum 8–12 years of progressive experience in Corporate Strategy, Management Consulting, Business Transformation, Corporate Development, or Strategic Planning.
• Experience within a Big Four consulting firm, Tier-1 strategy consulting firm (McKinsey, Bain, BCG), high-growth retail, FMCG, technology, or private equity-backed business is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated success leading cross-functional strategic initiatives with measurable commercial outcomes.
• Proven ability to influence senior executives and operate in highly ambiguous environments.
