Deputy General Manager, Center and Regional Operations (CRO)

Role Summary

• The Deputy General Manager, Centre & Regional Operations will provide strategic and operational leadership across assigned centres and the region, ensuring efficient end-to-end logistics operations, excellent customer experience, achievement of business targets, and compliance with company standards. 
• The role will oversee centre performance, people, processes, service quality, cost management, and continuous improvement while working closely with other functions to drive regional business performance. 

Key Responsibilities
Regional & Centre Operations Management:

• Provide leadership and oversight for the effective operations of assigned centres and regional locations. 
• Ensure efficient parcel processing, dispatch, delivery, returns, and other logistics activities. 
• Monitor operational performance against agreed targets, KPIs, and SLAs. 
• Ensure consistent implementation of company policies, SOPs, and operational standards across all centres. 
• Identify operational gaps and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and service delivery. 

Performance & Service Delivery: 

• Drive achievement of key operational and business performance targets across the region. 
• Monitor productivity, turnaround time, delivery performance, shipment volumes, and customer service metrics. 
• Ensure prompt resolution of operational issues, customer complaints, and escalations. 
• Drive initiatives that improve customer experience and service reliability. 

People & Leadership: 

• Lead, coach, and develop Centre Managers and operational teams across the region. 
• Set clear performance expectations and ensure accountability at all levels. 
• Identify manpower requirements and support effective workforce planning. 
• Promote a culture of teamwork, ownership, discipline, and continuous improvement. 

Financial & Cost Management: 

• Monitor operational costs and ensure efficient utilisation of company resources. 
• Support the achievement of regional revenue and profitability targets. 
• Identify opportunities to reduce operational costs without compromising service quality. 
• Monitor centre-level financial performance and take appropriate corrective action where required. 

Compliance, Risk & Controls: 

• Ensure strict adherence to operational, security, safety, and regulatory requirements. 
• Ensure proper handling, storage, movement, and documentation of parcels and company assets. 
• Identify operational risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures. 
• Support internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of identified gaps. 

Business Growth & Stakeholder Management: 

• Work closely with Commercial, Finance, Customer Experience, HR, and other functions to achieve regional objectives. 
• Support business expansion and the effective onboarding of new locations, clients, and operational initiatives. 
• Maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. 
• Provide management with regular reports, insights, and recommendations on regional performance. 

Continuous Improvement: 

• Identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity, service quality, and customer experience. 
• Lead the implementation of operational improvement initiatives across assigned centres. 
• Promote the use of technology, data, and automation to improve operational efficiency. 
• Benchmark centre and regional performance and drive continuous improvement. 

Requirements
Experience & Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field. 
• 8–12 years of relevant experience, with significant experience in logistics, supply chain, distribution, or a similar operational environment. 
• Proven experience managing multiple locations, teams, or regional operations. 
• Demonstrated track record of achieving operational and business performance targets. 
• Professional certification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, or Management is an added advantage.
