Finance & Operations Executive

About the Role

• We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Finance & Operations Executive to support the day-to-day financial and operational activities of the organization.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in finance, accounting, reconciliation, settlement, and financial operations, with the ability to take ownership of routine financial processes while supporting broader business operations.
• This role is suitable for a finance professional who is ready to take on greater responsibility, coordinate operational activities, monitor financial processes, and ensure transactions, records, and reports are accurate and properly managed.

Key Responsibilities
Finance & Reconciliation:

• Perform daily settlement and reconciliation of financial transactions across multiple channels and accounts.
• Review transaction records, identify discrepancies, and investigate unmatched or outstanding transactions. 
• Track and resolve reconciliation breaks, failed transactions, and settlement exceptions.
• Monitor cash movements, settlements, and financial transactions to ensure accurate recording and timely processing.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial, settlement, and reconciliation reports.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with month-end financial close, reporting, and account reconciliation activities.
• Monitor outstanding payments, receivables, settlements, and other financial obligations.
• Support the preparation and review of financial reports and management information.
• Ensure adherence to internal financial controls, processes, and procedures.

Operations:

• Support the day-to-day operational activities of the business and ensure processes are completed efficiently.
• Coordinate with internal teams, banks, payment processors, vendors, and other external stakeholders to resolve financial and operational issues.
• Monitor operational workflows and identify gaps, delays, or inefficiencies.
• Follow up on pending transactions, settlements, payments, and operational requests to ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain proper documentation and records for key financial and operational activities.
• Assist in developing and improving operational processes, controls, and reporting systems.
• Support the implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Escalate financial, operational, or compliance-related issues where necessary.
• Provide regular updates and reports on financial and operational activities to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, reconciliation, settlement, financial operations, or business operations.
• Previous experience in a fintech, payments, banking, or financial services environment is an advantage.
• Good understanding of financial transactions, settlement, reconciliation, and basic accounting processes.
• Experience handling and reviewing high-volume financial transactions.
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to investigate discrepancies and follow issues through to resolution.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with different teams.
• Ability to manage multiple financial and operational tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with payment gateways, card transactions, bank transfers, wallets, or other fintech payment systems.
• Knowledge of financial reporting and transaction monitoring.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
• Experience using ERP, accounting, reconciliation, or financial management platforms.
• Exposure to business operations, process improvement, or operational reporting.
• Experience preparing reports for management and supporting decision-making.

Compensation
N300,000 Net Monthly.
