Job Description: CCTV Control Room Operator Job Title CCTV Control Room Operator Reports To Control Room Supervisor / Security Operations Manager Job Summary The CCTV Control Room Operator is responsible for monitoring, operating, and managing the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) surveillance system to ensure the safety and security of people, property, and assets. The operator identifies suspicious activities, responds promptly to security incidents, maintains accurate records, and supports security personnel with real-time information. Key Responsibilities Continuously monitor CCTV cameras and security systems. Detect, assess, and report suspicious or unusual activities. Coordinate with security guards and supervisors during incidents and emergencies. Monitor access control systems, alarms, and other security equipment. Record all incidents, observations, and actions taken in the control room logbook. Retrieve and preserve CCTV footage for investigations and management requests. Ensure all surveillance equipment is functioning properly and report technical faults immediately. Maintain confidentiality and security of CCTV footage and operational information. Follow established security procedures, emergency response plans, and company policies. Prepare daily, weekly, and incident reports for management. Assist law enforcement or authorized personnel by providing relevant CCTV footage when approved. Maintain effective communication with security teams, emergency responders, and facility management. Qualifications Minimum of SSCE/OND or equivalent qualification. Previous experience in CCTV operations or security services is an advantage. CCTV certification or security training is desirable. Basic computer literacy and ability to operate surveillance software. Required Skills Strong observation and attention to detail. Excellent communication and reporting skills. Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure. Good knowledge of CCTV systems, access control, and alarm monitoring. Integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Continuous and effective monitoring of surveillance systems. Timely detection and reporting of security incidents. Accuracy and completeness of incident reports and logs. Quick response and coordination during emergencies. Compliance with CCTV operating procedures and company policies. Proper management and retrieval of recorded footage.p Working Conditions 24/7 shift operations, including weekends and public holidays. Long periods of monitoring CCTV screens in a control room environment. May be required to work overtime during emergencies or special operations.
