ICT, Coding and Robotics Teacher

Job Description

• We are looking for a dynamic and creative ICT, Coding and Robotics Teacher who can equip students with practical digital skills and inspire them to become confident problem-solvers, innovators, and creators.
• The successful candidate will teach ICT and computer-related subjects while providing hands-on learning experiences in coding, programming, robotics, computational thinking, digital literacy, and technology projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging ICT, Coding, and Robotics lessons in line with the approved curriculum.
• Teach students practical computer and digital literacy skills.
• Introduce students to coding, programming, algorithms, computational thinking, and problem-solving.
• Teach age-appropriate programming languages and coding platforms.
• Design and supervise practical coding and robotics projects.
• Introduce students to robotics concepts, including basic electronics, sensors, motors, automation, and programming, as appropriate.
• Encourage students to learn through hands-on projects, experimentation, innovation, and problem-solving.
• Develop students' ability to design, build, test, troubleshoot, and improve technological projects.
• Teach responsible and safe use of computers, the internet, and digital technologies.
• Introduce students to emerging technologies and their real-world applications.
• Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, practical exercises, assignments, tests, and examinations.
• Assess students' practical and theoretical knowledge and maintain accurate records of their progress.
• Provide additional support to students who require assistance.
• Encourage participation in coding, robotics, technology, and innovation competitions.
• Organise technology projects, exhibitions, demonstrations, and presentations where appropriate.
• Maintain and properly manage ICT, coding, and robotics equipment and resources.
• Ensure that students follow appropriate safety procedures when using computers, electronic components, and robotics equipment.
• Integrate appropriate digital tools and educational technology into classroom instruction.
• Maintain effective classroom management and create an environment that encourages creativity and innovation.
• Participate actively in departmental meetings, school programmes, and co-curricular activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues and communicate professionally with parents and school management.
• Support the school's commitment to academic excellence, innovation, discipline, creativity, character formation, and service.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Computer Education, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Robotics, Technology Education, or a related field.
• A recognised teaching qualification is an advantage.
• TRCN certification or eligibility for registration is an advantage.
• Previous teaching experience, preferably in a secondary school.
• Strong practical knowledge of ICT and computer applications.
• Demonstrable experience in coding/programming and robotics.
• Ability to teach programming and computational thinking at age-appropriate levels.
• Experience with educational coding platforms, robotics kits, or STEM projects is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Ability to teach through practical, project-based, and hands-on methods.
• A passion for technology, innovation, and developing young learners.
