Internal Audit Officer

Job Summary
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Internal Audit Officer to support the organization in strengthening financial controls, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures, identifying operational risks, and improving overall business efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular internal audits of financial and operational activities.
- Review transactions, records, invoices, receipts, and supporting documents for accuracy and compliance.
- Identify control weaknesses, irregularities, errors, and potential risks.
- Monitor compliance with company policies, procedures, and financial controls.
- Reconcile financial records and investigate discrepancies.
- Review cash handling, expenses, procurement, and payment processes.
- Prepare clear and accurate audit reports with findings and recommendations.
- Follow up on implementation of corrective actions.
- Support fraud prevention and risk management activities.
- Maintain proper documentation of audit activities and findings.
- Work closely with the Finance, Operations, and Management teams to improve internal processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree/HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in internal audit, accounting, finance, or compliance.
- Experience in the freight forwarding, clearing & logistics, shipping, or related industry is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and audit procedures.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Ability to identify discrepancies and investigate financial/operational irregularities.
- Strong communication, documentation, and reporting skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Salary
N200,000 monthly.
