HSE Officer

Role Summary

• We are seeking a proactive and safety-conscious HSE Officer to support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
• The successful candidate will monitor workplace safety, identify and control hazards, ensure compliance with applicable HSE requirements, and promote a strong safety culture across office, warehouse and operational activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the Company’s HSE policies, procedures and programs.
• Conduct routine workplace, warehouse and operational HSE inspections.
• Identify hazards, assess risks and recommend appropriate control measures.
• Monitor compliance with PPE requirements and safe work practices.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings and HSE awareness sessions.
• Support incident, accident and near-miss investigations and prepare reports.
• Maintain accurate HSE records, inspection reports, incident logs and compliance documentation.
• Monitor emergency preparedness, fire safety and first-aid arrangements.
• Support risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Permit-to-Work activities where applicable.
• Monitor environmental practices, including waste handling, chemical storage and spill prevention.
• Liaise with supervisors and department heads to address unsafe conditions and behaviours.
• Track corrective and preventive actions arising from inspections and incidents.
• Support HSE audits and regulatory compliance activities.
• Assist with emergency drills and other safety exercises.
• Promote continuous improvement in workplace health, safety and environmental performance.
• Prepare periodic HSE reports and provide recommendations to management.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Reduction in workplace incidents and near misses.
• HSE inspection and corrective-action closure rate.
• PPE and safety compliance.
• Timely completion of HSE reports and inspections.
• Employee participation in HSE training/toolbox talks.
• Emergency drill and preparedness compliance.
• Regulatory and internal HSE compliance.
• Environmental compliance and waste-management performance.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant HSE certification(s) such as NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent will be an advantage.
• 2–3 years of experience in an HSE role, preferably within the oil & gas, industrial, manufacturing or related sector.
• Good knowledge of workplace safety practices, risk assessment and incident reporting.
• Strong communication, observation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively across office, warehouse and operational environments.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and HSE reporting / documentation.
