Baker Supervisor

About the Role

• We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Baker Supervisor (Head Baker) to lead our bakery production team and oversee the day-to-day operations of the bakery.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for managing bakery personnel, ensuring consistent product quality, maintaining production standards, and providing technical leadership in the production of bread, biscuits, cakes, and other bakery products.
• This is a hands-on leadership position for a candidate who can effectively manage a sizeable bakery team while maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene, efficiency, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for daily bakery/kitchen production operations.
• Supervise, coordinate, and manage the bakery production team.
• Lead and manage a team of 10 or more bakery staff effectively.
• Plan and coordinate daily production activities to meet production targets.
• Personally oversee and provide technical guidance on the production of bread, biscuits, cakes, and other bakery products.
• Ensure products consistently meet required standards for taste, texture, appearance, weight, and quality.
• Monitor production processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce wastage.
• Supervise the proper use, handling, and maintenance of bakery equipment and tools.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Monitor the quality and appropriate use of raw materials and ingredients.
• Train, guide, and develop bakery staff to improve technical skills and productivity.
• Assign duties and monitor staff attendance, performance, discipline, and productivity.
• Identify and resolve production or technical challenges promptly.
• Work closely with management on production planning, product development, and operational improvements.
• Maintain proper production records and provide regular reports to management.
• Perform other duties related to bakery production and team supervision as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years' relevant working experience in a bakery environment.
• Demonstrable expertise in the production of bread, biscuits, cakes, and other bakery products.
• Minimum of 3 years' management/supervisory experience.
• Proven experience leading and managing a bakery team of 10 or more staff members.
• Strong technical knowledge of bakery production processes and quality control.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to take full responsibility for bakery production and effectively manage people and processes.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
• Candidates should be young. However, this requirement may be relaxed for candidates with exceptional skills, experience, and competence.

Probation:

• The successful candidate will undergo a six-month probation period.
• Following probation, compensation may be reviewed based on demonstrated performance, competence, leadership ability, and contribution to the organization.

What We Offer

• Monthly Salary: N120,000 – N180,000
