Business Consultant (Hybrid)

Role Summary

• The Business Consultant will support the development and delivery of consulting engagements across various sectors.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting research, developing consulting documents, preparing business reports, creating concept notes and proposals, supporting client projects, facilitating stakeholder engagements, and contributing to the firm's thought leadership initiatives.
• This role requires a highly organised professional who can think strategically, communicate effectively, and transform complex information into actionable recommendations and professional-quality deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
Research & Analysis:

• Conduct market, industry, policy, regulatory, and competitor research.
• Gather, analyse, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data.
• Develop research reports, briefing notes, and insight papers.
• Monitor industry trends and identify opportunities relevant to client projects.
• Conduct stakeholder mapping and environmental scans for consulting assignments.
• Support needs assessments, organisational assessments, and business diagnostics.

Consulting & Advisory Support:

• Assist in the planning and execution of consulting engagements.
• Participate in client meetings, discovery sessions, workshops, and stakeholder consultations.
• Develop recommendations based on research findings and project outcomes.
• Support the design and implementation of business improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to organisational development, strategy, governance, and operational improvement projects.
• Assist in preparing client presentations and advisory reports.

Proposal & Business Documentation Development:

• Develop high-quality concept notes, proposals, business cases, and project frameworks.
• Prepare feasibility studies and project reports.
• Draft strategic plans, operational plans, and implementation roadmaps.
• Create policies, procedures, manuals, and organisational documents.
• Develop project charters, work plans, and monitoring frameworks.
• Produce professional client-ready documents that meet consulting standards.

Project Management Support:

• Coordinate project activities and track deliverables.
• Support project planning, scheduling, and reporting.
• Monitor project timelines and ensure milestones are achieved.
• Prepare project status reports and progress updates.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
• Liaise with clients, partners, vendors, and stakeholders as required.

Client Relationship Management:

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Respond professionally to client inquiries and requests.
• Support client onboarding and project initiation activities.
• Participate in business development activities where required.
• Represent the firm professionally during meetings and engagements.

Knowledge Management & Internal Operations:

• Contribute to the development of consulting templates and methodologies.
• Maintain databases of research materials and reference documents.
• Support the firm's knowledge management initiatives.
• Assist in developing thought leadership articles, reports, and publications.
• Participate in internal strategy and planning sessions.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Quality and accuracy of consulting deliverables.
• Timeliness of project execution.
• Quality of research outputs and recommendations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration, Management, Social Sciences, International Development, Law, Finance, or a related field.
• A Master's Degree will be an added advantage.
• Relevant professional certifications will be an advantage.

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in consulting, advisory services, business support, project management, strategy, research, organisational development, or a related field.

Demonstrated experience developing consulting deliverables such as:

• Concept Notes
• Business Proposals
• Strategic Plans
• Research Reports
• Feasibility Studies
• Policy Documents
• Organisational Manuals
• Business Cases
• Project Reports
• Experience working with private sector organisations, NGOs, foundations, development organisations, government institutions, or consulting firms is highly desirable.

• They are intellectually curious, highly resourceful, proactive, and capable of transforming ideas into structured, professional, and actionable business documents.
• This is not a traditional analyst role.
• We are seeking a consultant who can think critically, engage stakeholders confidently, conduct rigorous research, develop practical solutions, and produce client-ready outputs with minimal supervision.
