Dispatch Rider

Job Summary

• We are seeking a reliable, disciplined, and customer-focused Medical Dispatch Rider to join our team and ensure the safe and prompt transportation of medical items and documents.
• The Medical Dispatch Rider will be responsible for the timely collection and delivery of laboratory samples, medical reports, medications, consumables, and other healthcare-related items between our facilities, hospitals, clinics, corporate clients, and patients while maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of all medical materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver laboratory specimens, blood,medications, medical reports, and other healthcare items safely and promptly.
• Ensure proper handling and transportation of temperature-sensitive or fragile medical specimens according to established protocols.
• Verify delivery and collection details before leaving each location.
• Obtain signatures or electronic proof of delivery where required.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and daily dispatch records.
• Ensure confidentiality of patient information and medical documents.
• Perform routine inspection and basic maintenance of the assigned motorcycle.
• Report accidents, delays, or mechanical faults immediately.
• Ensure compliance with road safety regulations and company policies.
• Maintain cleanliness and good condition of the assigned motorcycle and safety equipment.
• Provide courteous and professional customer service to patients and clients.
• Support other logistics duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
• Valid Rider's Permit and current driver's licence for motorcycles.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a dispatch rider, preferably in a healthcare or medical environment.
• Good knowledge of road networks within the operating area.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physically fit and able to work under pressure.
• Honest, dependable, punctual, and well-organised.
• Ability to use smartphones and navigation applications (e.g., Google Maps).
• No history of reckless driving or serious traffic violations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience handling laboratory samples or medical deliveries.
• Basic knowledge of specimen handling and infection prevention procedures.
• Basic motorcycle maintenance skills.
