Assistant Accountant

Role Summary
- We need a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to support and assist the Accountant with the day-to-day financial records of the business, ensuring accuracy in sales, expenses and stock-related accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Record daily sales, purchases, payments and expenses accurately.
- Prepare and issue invoices, receipts and customer statements, including for wholesale customers.
- Reconcile cash, bank and POS/transfer records daily and monthly.
- Track customer debts and supplier payments, and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Assist with stock reconciliation and cost tracking together with the store team.
- Help prepare monthly financial reports and support tax and statutory filings.
- Keep financial documents organised and up to date.
- Support the Store and Operations Manager with any accounting tasks assigned.
Requirements
- HND or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- ICAN/ANAN (or progress towards it) is an added advantage.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
- Prior experience in a retail or wholesale environment is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, honesty and integrity.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
