Retail Shop Supervisor

Core Responsibilities

• Product Expertise: Maintain a working knowledge of all products and product solutions offered within the outlet.
• Staff Management: Participate in the hiring and training of subordinates; assign duties and maintain the roster; provide motivation and coaching to help team members meet performance goals; follow up on the results, through scheduled evaluations; discipline, counsel, and initiate corrective actions.
• Customer Service: Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction by handling inquiries and resolving queries and complaints effectively; establish good rapport with existing and potential customers; resolve other customer service issues.
• Sales and Performance: Meet or exceed sales targets; implement all the TAPG marketing campaigns pertinent to the outlet as well as promotional initiatives to drive sales, store performance and increase profitability.
• Inventory and Stock: Oversee inventory levels; participate in ordering, receiving and stocking; maintain healthy inventory through reorder levels; implement measures to avoid stock expiry, damages, theft, and wastage, shortages, overstocking, and expiry.
• General Store Operations: Maintain the store's visual appearance, cleanliness, and organization, ensuring all products are displayed correctly in alignment with internal and regulatory standards.
• Transactional and Financial Management: Sales watch; cash drawer, receipts, payments, and refunds management; participation in budgeting as well as budget implementation; monitor expenses to minimize waste.
• Compliance: Ensure that the store aligns with the corporate governance mentality of the organization; complies with all company policies, procedures, as well as all applicable regulatory, health and safety regulations.
• Cross Collaboration: Spearhead seamless interactions with other departments within the organization, as well as external consultants, stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
• Local Market and Competition Watch: Investigate local market trends and popular products that would appeal to neighbourhood customers. Recognize future and present requirements by customers; monitor all the pertinent dynamics in all rival sales outlets, within the customer zone.
• Reports: Prepare and submit all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual reports pertaining to the sales outlet.
• Database: Participate in developing and maintaining the KYC and vendor database.
• Online Sales: Spearhead online sales and promotions for the outlet, through the company’s platforms like websites and social media accounts.
• Others: All other related responsibilities, as assigned.

Requirements

• A Degree or its equivalent in Business Administration, Marketing and Sales, Retail Management, or any related field with 2 - 5 years relevant working experience.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and deliver results without excuses
• Experience: Previous supervisory or management experience in a retail setting is typically required, as is experience with sales, budgets, and financial reports.
• Attention to detail and the ability to multitask;
• Transparency, accountability, accuracy and integrity;
• Must be amendable to corporate governance.

Skills :

• Technical Skills: Familiarity with retail technology/ electronic equipment like POS systems, inventory management software, cash register and scheduling tools;
• Customer Service: A strong focus on providing excellent service and resolving customer issues;
• Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication with both staff and customers;
• Leadership and Management Skills: must carry team members along, without overfamiliarity;
• Problem-Solving: Ability to think on their feet and resolve issues quickly in a fast-paced environment;
• Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and attention to detail for tasks like inventory and visual merchandising

Salary
N200,000 monthly.
