Civil Engineer

Job Summary

• We are seeking a qualified Civil Engineer to support the execution and maintenance of civil and structural works within a petrochemical/fertilizer plant environment.
• The successful candidate will coordinate contractors, review engineering documentation, monitor project progress, ensure quality and safety standards, and provide effective technical support for civil and structural activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and verify engineering designs, drawings, project plans, specifications, and material quantities for accuracy.
• Coordinate with project teams to manage civil, structural, and interdisciplinary interfaces.
• Prepare and follow up on Site Technical Queries (STQs) and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
• Monitor project schedules and prepare daily progress reports.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, specifications, and engineering standards.
• Track document revisions and assess their potential impact on project timelines and execution.
• Monitor and enforce quality, safety, and construction standards across contractor activities.
• Conduct site inspections and verify measurements to ensure work is executed according to approved designs and specifications.
• Coordinate and monitor civil maintenance and construction activities based on operational requirements.
• Support contractor management and ensure timely completion of assigned works.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the department.

Requirements & Qualifications

• B.Eng / B.Sc. or HND in Civil Engineering or a related field from a recognized university or polytechnic.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, construction, maintenance, petrochemical, fertilizer, or industrial plant environments.
• Experience in industrial maintenance and construction is required.
• Experience in residential/property maintenance is an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of civil and structural engineering practices, site execution, and contractor coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Good knowledge of quality and safety requirements in industrial/project environments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
