Housekeeper / Shortlet Supervisor

About the Role

• We are seeking a responsible, service-oriented and highly organized Housekeeper / Shortlet Property Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of a serviced shortlet apartment in Apo, Abuja.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the property to a high standard, managing guest check-ins and check-outs, attending to guest requests, coordinating housekeeping activities, monitoring the condition of the apartment and providing reliable 24-hour guest support.
• This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about hospitality, understands guest service and can work independently while maintaining professionalism at all times.

Key Responsibilities
Guest Check-In & Check-Out:

• Coordinate and manage smooth guest check-in and check-out processes.
• Welcome guests professionally and provide necessary information about the apartment and available facilities.
• Verify guest identity and reservation details in accordance with company procedures.
• Explain house rules, apartment facilities and relevant safety information to guests.
• Conduct appropriate room/property checks during check-out.
• Report any damages, missing items or unusual occurrences promptly.

Guest Management & Customer Service:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for guests throughout their stay.
• Provide 24-hour guest support for enquiries, complaints, emergencies and service requests.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest calls, WhatsApp messages and other approved communication channels.
• Ensure guests are comfortable and their legitimate needs are attended to promptly.
• Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate serious issues to management where necessary.
• Maintain a welcoming, respectful and professional relationship with guests.

Housekeeping & Property Maintenance:

• Maintain the apartment in a clean, neat and guest-ready condition at all times.
• Carry out routine housekeeping and cleaning duties.
• Ensure bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, living areas and other guest-use areas meet the required cleanliness standards.
• Coordinate laundry, linen changes, toiletries and other housekeeping requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections of the apartment to identify maintenance, cleanliness or safety issues.
• Report faulty equipment, plumbing issues, electrical problems, damaged furniture or other maintenance concerns immediately.
• Monitor housekeeping supplies and notify management when replenishment is required.

Shortlet & Booking Operations:

• Understand and work with OTA and online booking platforms, including platforms such as Booking.com, Airbnb, Expedia and other relevant channels.
• Monitor reservations, guest arrivals, departures, cancellations and booking changes.
• Maintain accurate records of bookings and guest movements.
• Ensure the property is properly prepared before every guest arrival.
• Communicate relevant booking and guest information to management.
• Assist with maintaining accurate availability and booking information across approved platforms.
• Ensure there are no avoidable conflicts between reservations and property availability.

Property Supervision:

• Supervise the general day-to-day running of the shortlet apartment.
• Ensure the property remains secure, functional, clean and properly presented.
• Monitor electricity, water, internet, appliances, air-conditioning and other essential services.
• Ensure adequate availability of toiletries, cleaning materials, beddings, towels and other guest supplies.
• Maintain an inventory of household items and report losses or shortages.
• Ensure company property and guest belongings are treated with care and confidentiality.
• Maintain proper records of incidents, maintenance issues, guest complaints and other important occurrences.

Guest Experience & Service Standards:

• Ensure every guest receives a pleasant and professional hospitality experience.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, responsiveness and courtesy.
• Anticipate guest needs where reasonably possible and provide proactive assistance.
• Support the company in maintaining positive guest reviews and ratings on booking platforms.
• Follow established company procedures and service standards.

24 Hours Availability:

• Because this is a live-in hospitality position, the successful candidate will be required to provide 24-hour on-property guest support, particularly for urgent guest needs, check-in/check-out requirements and emergencies.
• This does not mean continuous active work throughout the day. The role requires the supervisor to remain available and accessible on the property outside normal active duty periods and respond appropriately whenever a genuine guest or property-related need arises.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in housekeeping, shortlet management, serviced apartments, hotels, guest houses or a related hospitality environment.
• Good understanding of guest relations and hospitality service.
• Basic to good knowledge of OTA/online booking platforms such as Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia or similar platforms.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use WhatsApp and basic digital tools for guest communication and operational reporting.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, detail and presentation.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Trustworthy, responsible and security-conscious.
• Ability to handle difficult guests and unexpected situations calmly and professionally.
• Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Must be willing to live on the property and provide 24-hour support when required.

Salary
N120,000 / Month + Accommodation + Training
