Retail Operations & Business Development Manager

Compensation: ₦200,000 net base monthly salary + Performance Bonus up to ₦100,000 monthly

About the Role

We are seeking a high-calibre, experienced Retail Operations & Business Development Manager to lead our expanding integrated automotive retail and service hub. As we invest significantly in premium lubricants, genuine OEM parts, aftermarket components, tyres, batteries, accessories, and car care products, this role will be instrumental in translating our expansion into sustainable sales growth, operational excellence, and lasting client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Growth & Business Development

• Drive monthly revenue growth across all product categories.
• Build and maintain robust relationships with mechanics, independent workshops, fleet operators, transport companies, ride-hailing drivers, and corporate clients.
• Identify, pursue, and convert new B2B opportunities into long-term accounts.
• Execute strategies to boost customer retention, increase average transaction value, and secure repeat business.

Retail Operations & Inventory Management

• Oversee day-to-day hub operations, ensuring premium merchandising, stellar customer service, and strict compliance with operating standards.
• Maintain a clean, secure, organised, and professional retail environment.
• Partner with the Inventory & E-Commerce Officer to manage stock levels, replenishment planning, inventory accuracy, stock ageing, shrinkage, and inventory turnover.
• Monitor product movement and advise on procurement priorities based on sales trends, profitability, and customer demand.

Technical Guidance & Leadership

• Offer expert product recommendations and technical guidance to customers and the sales team, maintaining high technical credibility in lubricants, parts, tyres, and vehicle maintenance (especially Japanese vehicle applications like Toyota and Lexus).
• Lead, coach, supervise, and develop all hub personnel, including sales associates, inventory staff, dispatch personnel, cashiers, and workshop technicians.
• Conduct daily operational briefings, monitor team productivity, and foster a disciplined, high-performance culture.
• Prepare weekly and monthly operational/commercial performance reports and present recommendations directly to leadership.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 5 to 8 years of solid experience in automotive retail, spare parts, lubricants, tyres, dealership operations, or related sectors, with direct responsibility for inventory valued at ₦20 million or more.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong practical understanding of engine oils, automotive spare parts, batteries, tyres, workshop consumables, and Japanese vehicle applications (specifically Toyota and Lexus).
• Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated success in sales management, business development, B2B account acquisition, CRM, and commercial negotiations.
• Systems Competence: Working knowledge of retail POS and inventory management systems (experience with TracePOS is a distinct advantage).
• Leadership & Network: Proven leadership capability combined with an active industry network of mechanics, independent workshops, fleet operators, or automotive distributors.
• Proximity: Preference will be given to candidates residing in Surulere or within close commuting proximity to ensure reliable punctuality and operational responsiveness.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: ₦200,000 net per month.
• Monthly Performance Bonus: Up to ₦100,000 based on key performance indicators:
