Credit Risk Officer

Motion Yield Nigeria Ltd is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Risk Officer to support our credit and lending operations. The ideal candidate will have strong Excel skills, a good understanding of consumer lending risk principles, and the ability to analyze loan data to support business decisions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze credit applications and loan performance trends
- Conduct basic risk assessments and provide recommendations
- Monitor default, early repayment, and portfolio quality indicators
- Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly risk reports using Excel or other tools
- Collaborate with underwriting, collections, and operations teams
- Support the development of internal credit scoring and exposure models
- Escalate unusual lending patterns or fraud red flags promptly
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field
- 1–3 years' experience in risk analysis, credit analysis, or consumer lending
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, lookups)
- Familiarity with data tools (Power BI, SQL, or Google Sheets) is an advantage
- Basic understanding of credit risk, KYC, and regulatory standards
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of HND/BSC degree
- Experience in a microfinance, fintech, or digital lending company
- Knowledge of basic fraud detection strategies
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
