Pharmacy Technician

Summary

• We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team.
• The successful candidate will support pharmacists in dispensing medications, managing inventory, maintaining accurate records, and delivering safe, efficient service to patients and customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist with receiving, preparing, labeling, and dispensing prescriptions.
• Verify prescription details, patient information, and medication quantities before dispensing.
• Manage medicine inventory, including stock counts, expiry-date checks, storage, and reordering.
• Maintain accurate prescription, patient, and controlled-medicine records in line with applicable regulations.
• Receive and process customer requests, prescription refills, and medication collections professionally.
• Provide basic medicine-use information within the approved scope of practice and refer clinical questions to the pharmacist.
• Support the maintenance of a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
• Handle payments, receipts, and point-of-sale transactions where required.
• Assist with medication deliveries, returns, recalls, and disposal procedures.
• Follow all pharmacy policies, confidentiality requirements, health-and-safety standards, and regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

• Diploma, certificate, or recognized training in Pharmacy Technician studies, Pharmacy Technology, or a related field.
• Current registration or licensing as a Pharmacy Technician, where required.
• Previous pharmacy, retail, hospital, or healthcare experience is an advantage.
• Good understanding of pharmacy operations, medication storage, labeling, and inventory management.
• Strong attention to detail, numeracy, organization, and customer-service skills.
• Proficiency with computer systems and pharmacy-management software is an advantage.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to patient confidentiality.
