Production Officer – Agriculture & Food Sector Job Title: Production Officer Industry: Agriculture & Food Production Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Ikorodu, Lagos. Reports To: Production Manager / Operations Manager About the Role We are seeking a competent, proactive, and results-driven Production Officer to join our agricultural and food production team. The successful candidate will support the planning, coordination, monitoring, and execution of daily production activities while ensuring that products meet required quality, safety, and production standards. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and monitor daily agricultural and food production activities. Ensure production targets, schedules, and operational requirements are achieved. Supervise production workers and allocate tasks effectively. Monitor the use of raw materials, equipment, packaging materials, and other production inputs. Maintain accurate production records, reports, inventory records, and operational documentation. Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health and safety, and quality-control standards. Monitor production processes to minimize waste, downtime, and production losses. Conduct routine checks on machinery, equipment, facilities, and production areas and report faults promptly. Work closely with the Quality Control, Procurement, Warehouse, Farm, and Operations teams to ensure smooth production. Assist in implementing improved production processes and cost-saving measures. Identify production challenges and recommend practical solutions. Ensure proper handling, storage, processing, packaging, and dispatch of agricultural and food products. Support staff training and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs). Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports as required. Requirements A Bachelor’s degree or HND in Agriculture, Food Science, Food Technology, Agricultural Engineering, Production Management, or a related field. 1–3 years of relevant experience in agricultural production, food processing, manufacturing, or a related environment. Good knowledge of production processes, quality control, food safety, and workplace health and safety practices. Strong organizational, supervisory, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet production deadlines. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production record-keeping. Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Experience with agricultural processing, FMCG, or food manufacturing will be an added advantage.
