Accountant

Responsibilties

• Record and maintain accurate financial transactions and accounting records.
• Prepare and post daily sales, receipts, payments, and expense transactions.
• Reconcile daily sales with cash, POS, transfers, and bank deposits.
• Monitor customer accounts, receivables, and outstanding balances.
• Record and reconcile customer payments and ensure proper allocation to accounts.
• Prepare and process supplier payments and maintain supplier accounts.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and review invoices, receipts, credit notes, and debit notes.
• Monitor and reconcile inventory-related financial records.
• Assist in stock reconciliation and investigate financial discrepancies relating to stock.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and monitor all company bank accounts.
• Monitor cash transactions and ensure proper documentation and authorization.
• Maintain accurate records of company expenses and ensure supporting documents are available.
• Prepare payroll and other approved staff-related payments where applicable.
• Prepare periodic financial reports for Management.
• Assist with budgeting, cash-flow monitoring, and financial planning.
• Ensure proper filing and safekeeping of accounting documents and records.
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.
• Identify and report accounting errors, discrepancies, and unusual transactions.
• Assist with audit activities and provide requested financial documents and information.
• Monitor statutory payments and assist with relevant tax and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality of company financial information.
• Perform any other accounting duties assigned by Management.

Qualifications

• Interested candidates should possess an HND / Bachelor`s Degree with 2 - 3 years experience.
