Protocol Assistant

Main Functions

• We are seeking a protocol assistant to provide professional airport protocol and passenger support services for company personnel and guests travelling on local and international flights.
• The successful candidate will coordinate passenger movements, airport transfers, luggage handling, shuttle operations, and related travel support activities while ensuring a safe, efficient, and seamless airport experience.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Provide airport protocol assistance and support to company personnel and guests.
• Receive and assist passengers on arrival and departure at the airport.
• Coordinate airport shuttle and circuit bus operations.
• Ensure all expected passengers are accounted for before shuttle departure.
• Coordinate with Immigration, Customs, NDLEA, airlines, and other relevant airport authorities when required.
• Liaise with the travel team regarding accommodation arrangements for unplanned or unexpected passengers.
• Ensure all passenger transportation activities are accurately recorded in the Personnel Transportation Solution (PTS).
• Forecast additional transportation requirements based on assigned flights and passenger movements.
• Supervise passenger luggage handling and assist with the recovery of missing or delayed luggage.
• Maintain and update protocol-related information in the General Services Support System (G3S) on a daily basis.
• Prepare and submit weekly protocol activity reports to the Sectional Head.
• Supervise airport drivers and monitor their activities to ensure safe and efficient passenger transportation.
• Conduct routine inspections of airport shuttles and report identified issues to the relevant safety team.
• Ensure safe transportation of passengers to and from airports, offices, and hotels.
• Provide passengers with accurate information regarding hotel shuttle schedules, flight times, and accommodation arrangements.
• Generate daily travel analysis reports and detailed transportation plans from the PTS.
• Coordinate passenger check-in and boarding activities where required.
• Ensure appropriate transportation and security/police escort arrangements are available when required.

Job Requirements

• B.Sc./B.A. or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution, or HND.
• Maximum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
• Previous experience in airport protocol, passenger handling, travel coordination, transportation, hospitality, or related services will be an advantage.
• Good knowledge of airport operations and passenger movement procedures.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with passengers, airlines, airport authorities, drivers, and internal stakeholders.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple passenger movements simultaneously.
• Basic computer skills and ability to maintain accurate operational records.
• Willingness to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays when required.
