Hospitality Talent Acquisition Associate (Hybrid)

The Role

• As our Talent Acquisition Associate, you will take ownership of finding, onboarding and supporting hospitality professionals joining The Pool.
• You will be responsible for actively growing our candidate network and moving candidates from initial interest through to completed profiles.
• This is a hands on role in a young company. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, enjoys working with people and is comfortable figuring things out rather than always waiting for detailed instructions.
• This is also a target driven role. You will be expected to meet defined candidate onboarding targets, with the opportunity to earn additional performance based compensation for successfully completed candidate onboardings above the required target.
• Your regular working arrangement will befour days remote and one day in person each week. Flexibility is important. There will be occasions when you will be required to attend additional in person onboarding sessions, industry events, candidate activations, meetings or content days in Lagos.

What You'll Do
Candidate Sourcing & Onboarding:

• Proactively find strong hospitality candidates across Lagos.
• Identify new candidate sources, communities and partnerships that can help us consistently reach good hospitality talent.
• Review prospective candidates and help identify people who are a strong fit for The Pool.
• Contact potential candidates and explain The Pool clearly and professionally.
• Guide candidates through the onboarding process, from initial interest through to completion of their profile.
• Take ownership of the candidate onboarding pipeline, keeping track of each candidate's progress and proactively following up to move profiles towards completion.
• Help candidates prepare for and record their introduction videos.
• Support and help coordinate in person candidate onboarding sessions when required.
• Work towards defined candidate sourcing and completed onboarding targets, taking ownership of consistently meeting and exceeding these goals.
• Pay attention to the roles and candidate categories The Pool needs and help focus sourcing efforts accordingly.
• Identify ways to improve candidate response and completion rates.

Candidate Community:

• Build positive relationships with candidates and help create a strong and positive experience for people joining The Pool.
• Respond to candidate questions and provide support when needed.
• Stay in touch with candidates and help keep our growing Pool community engaged.
• Gather feedback and identify recurring questions, challenges and opportunities to improve the candidate experience.

Content & Social Media:

• Help create and publish simple social media posts each week.
• Support the creation of short form social content featuring hospitality workers and the hospitality industry.
• Be comfortable approaching hospitality professionals for quick interviews, conversations and short video content.
• Help capture simple, engaging content at onboarding sessions, events and other Pool activities.
• Contribute ideas for content that is useful, interesting or entertaining for hospitality workers and employers.

Events & General Support:

• Represent The Pool professionally at candidate sessions, hospitality events, partnerships and other relevant activities when required.
• Support occasional employer, partnership, research or operational activities as the business grows.
• We are looking for someone who is willing to take ownership, contribute ideas, help where needed and be very proactive.

What Success Looks Like

• You consistently find and successfully onboard high quality hospitality professionals onto The Pool while giving candidates a positive and professional experience.
• This is a target driven role. You are expected to meet defined candidate onboarding goals and take ownership of finding the people, channels and approaches needed to achieve them. Successfully completed candidate onboardings above the required target are eligible for additional performance based compensation.
• You know where candidates are in the onboarding process, follow up without being asked, spot problems early and come with ideas for solving them.
• As you grow into the role, you should be able to take increasing ownership of the candidate side of The Pool, from sourcing talent and completing profiles to supporting our candidate community and helping us continue to build a strong hospitality talent network in Lagos.

Who We're Looking For

• Interested candidates should possess an HND qualification with 3 - 6 years experience.
• You may have experience in recruitment, hospitality, community management, customer service, operations or another people focused role.

More importantly, you are:

• Resourceful; You are willing to find different ways to reach people and solve problems when the obvious approach isn't working.
• Someone who takes ownership: You can think through the next step, make sensible decisions and keep things moving without needing constant direction.
• Excellent with people: You can communicate comfortably with people at different educational levels and make candidates feel at ease.
• Persistent: You are comfortable following up and getting work over the line. You are also not afraid of hearing no.
• Highly organised: You can manage multiple candidates at different stages without losing track of the details.
• A strong communicator: You communicate clearly and professionally on WhatsApp, email, phone and in person.
• Comfortable with technology: You are confident using everyday digital tools and are open to learning new systems.
• Comfortable with social media: You understand platforms such as Instagram and are willing to help create simple, engaging content.
• Experience with Canva, social media content creation or WhatsApp Business would be an advantage, but is not essential.
