Business Support Associate

A leading advisory firm providing strategic operational support to emerging fund managers and businesses across Africa, Europe, and North America. The firm has presence in New York, Lagos and Nairobi.  

The Role  

The client is recruiting a full-time Business Support Associate to join the team. As a member of the team, you will be working with clients in the alternative investments industry - private equity, private credit, venture capital sectors, and portfolio companies in different sectors of the economy across Africa. This role provides support to the CEO and COO in project management, marketing, service delivery and administration. The successful applicant will be resourceful, organized and motivated to enhance the company's reputation, brand awareness, and look for new and creative ways to market our services.  

Key Responsibilities  

• Assist in developing pitch decks, presentations, reference materials, and other documents as required.  

• Working closely with the management team, legal and finance teams to ensure connected strategy execution.  

• Monitoring and reporting on business development activities, progress against KPIs, and market trends.  

• Assist the management team in identifying new business opportunities and partners.  

• Managing client pipelines and track interactions effectively.  

• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with various levels of management, staff  

• Responsible for a continuous approach to actively growing client base through active brand awareness campaigns (LinkedIn and general social media management).  

• Along with the CEO and COO, you will help to identify and resolve the business needs of our clients.  

Requirements

Qualifications  

- Advanced degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.  

- 4+ years of experience in a corporate environment with a focus on marketing, business operations, and/or project management  

Skills  

- Strong project management and execution skills;, an ability to meet challenging deadlines while maintaining a high degree of quality and accuracy  

- Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills; focus on continuous process improvement and operational efficiency  

- Excellent analytical ability and discipline; ability to think clearly, structure problems logically, and then design and implement solutions that focus on the core issues  

- Excellent communication and presentation skills – written and verbal; experience writing, producing reports and using PowerPoint to present information in a clear and concise format  

- Strong understanding of the alternative investments (private equity, private credit and venture capital asset class) is an added advantage
