We are seeking an experienced, diligent, and meticulous Laundry Operator who specializes in the professional operation of commercial and industrial washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment. The ideal candidate will ensure garments, linens, and textiles are sorted, washed, treated, and finished to the highest quality standards while maintaining equipment efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Operation: Load and operate commercial/automatic washing machines, extractors, and tumble dryers according to fabric types, load capacities, and manufacturer instructions.
- Sorting & Pre-Treatment: Sort laundry by color, fabric type, and degree of soil; pre-treat stains using appropriate chemical agents before washing.
- Detergent & Chemical Management: Measure and dispense correct quantities of detergents, fabric softeners, bleaches, and stain removers to prevent fabric damage and ensure optimal cleanliness.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished laundry for stains, damage, or remaining dirt; re-wash items that do not meet quality standards.
- Post-Wash Processing: Oversee drying, folding, ironing/pressing, and proper packaging of cleaned items for delivery or collection.
- Routine Equipment Maintenance: Keep washing machines and laundry areas clean, clear lint traps regularly, and report any mechanical faults immediately.
Key Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 1 to 5 years of hands-on experience working in a commercial laundry, hotel, dry-cleaning outfit, or professional laundry service.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with the operations of various washing machine settings (water temperature, cycle types, spin speeds) and laundry chemicals.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent eye for spotting stains, delicate fabrics, and garment care labels.
- Integrity & Reliability: High level of trustworthiness, punctuality, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
