Captain - Business Aviation

Job Introduction

• Adexen has been mandated by one of its clients to recruit an experienced Captain for its private aviation operations.

Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will operate a Bombardier Challenger 604/605 aircraft and will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of flight safety, operational efficiency and professionalism across domestic and international missions.
• The position requires an experienced business aviation pilot combining strong technical expertise, sound judgement, flexibility and absolute discretion.
• The position is based in Nigeria with regular international operations.
• As Captain and Pilot-in-Command, you will have overall responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of assigned flights.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Act as Pilot-in-Command for Challenger 604/605 flight operations.
• Ensure all flights are conducted safely and in accordance with applicable aviation regulations, approved procedures and operating standards.
• Carry out comprehensive pre-flight preparation including flight planning, performance calculations, weather assessment and operational risk evaluation.
• Maintain the highest standards of aircraft operation, safety and flight discipline.
• Exercise sound judgement and decision-making across a wide range of operational conditions.
• Coordinate effectively with dispatch teams, maintenance providers, ground handling partners and relevant aviation authorities.
• Ensure all required aircraft documentation, flight records and operational reports are accurate and up to date.
• Maintain effective Crew Resource Management and promote a strong safety culture within the flight crew.
• Ensure a consistently high standard of service throughout all flight operations.
• Maintain absolute discretion and confidentiality regarding passengers, schedules, destinations and all operational information.
• Remain available for international missions and short-notice flight assignments as required.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Valid ICAO Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL).
• Current Bombardier Challenger 604/605 Type Rating.
• Minimum 3,500 total flight hours.
• Significant flying experience within corporate, private or business aviation.
• Current Class 1 Medical Certificate.
• Strong international flight operations experience.
• Excellent knowledge of ICAO regulations and international flight operating procedures.
• Strong Crew Resource Management capabilities.
• Excellent technical flying and decision-making skills.
• Proven ability to remain calm and effective in demanding operational situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High standards of integrity, professionalism and discretion.
• Strong service orientation appropriate to private and business aviation.
• Flexible and available for extensive international travel, including weekends, public holidays and short-notice assignments.
• Valid passport and ability to obtain the visas required for international operations.
• Willingness to be based in Nigeria.
• Strong safety record with no history of serious incidents or regulatory enforcement actions.
• Employment references and background checks will be required prior to appointment.
