We are looking for an Experienced Tailor / Sample Maker with exceptional garment construction skills and a sharp eye for detail to join our technical production team. Role Overview As an Experienced Tailor, you will be responsible for creating high-quality garment samples, constructing complex apparel, and ensuring that final production pieces meet strict sizing, fit, and structural standards. You will work closely with our pattern makers, fashion designers, and production managers to ensure flawless execution from concept to final product. Key Responsibilities Garment Construction: Construct complete garments from technical flat sketches, patterns, and tech packs using various industrial sewing techniques. Sample Making: Sew initial prototypes, pre-production samples, and sales samples with high accuracy to test fits and construction methods before bulk production. Alterations & Fitting: Perform precision fitting adjustments, alterations, and pattern revisions based on designer or client feedback. Material Handling: Work seamlessly with a wide range of fabrics (e.g., woven, knit, denim, silk, leather, stretch materials) and apply appropriate stitch types, threads, and tension settings. Equipment Maintenance: Operation and basic maintenance of industrial sewing machines (overlock, lockstitch, cover stitch, buttonhole, and specialty machinery). Quality Control: Inspect finished pieces for stitch accuracy, seam strength, correct dimensions, and immaculate finishing before client handoff. Process Efficiency: Assist the production line manager in estimating sewing times and identifying efficient construction methods for bulk manufacturing. Qualifications & Requirements Experience: Minimum 5+ years of hands-on tailoring, dressmaking, or sample-making experience within a commercial garment manufacturing or apparel production environment. Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of garment construction methods, seam allowances, stitching techniques, and fabric behavior. Pattern Reading: Strong ability to read, interpret, and adjust industrial patterns and technical specification sheets (tech packs). Machinery Expertise: Proficient in operating a wide array of industrial sewing and pressing equipment safely and efficiently. Precision & Detail: High level of accuracy, neat stitching, and dedication to maintaining premium finish quality. Physical & Organizational Skills: Good hand-eye coordination, ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and strong time management skills to meet production deadlines.
