Graduate Trainee Program (Direct Sales, Consumer Lending & POS Sales)

Job Summary

• The Graduate Trainee Program is designed for ambitious and results-driven graduates seeking to build a career in banking sales.
• The program provides structured training, mentorship, and hands-on experience across Direct Sales, Consumer Lending, and Point of Sale (POS)/Agency Banking.
• Successful candidates will develop the skills required to acquire customers, drive sales, promote financial products, and deliver exceptional customer service while contributing to the bank's business growth.

Key Responsibilities
Direct Sales:

• Identify and acquire new retail and corporate customers.
• Promote and sell the bank's products and services.
• Generate leads through field marketing, referrals, and business networking.
• Open new customer accounts in line with regulatory requirements.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business.
• Achieve assigned sales and customer acquisition targets.

Consumer Lending:

• Market personal loans, salary advances, asset financing, and other consumer credit products.
• Identify eligible customers and educate them on available loan offerings.
• Assist customers in completing loan applications and gathering required documentation.
• Conduct preliminary assessments of customer eligibility before submission.
• Follow up on loan applications through approval and disbursement.
• Maintain relationships with borrowers and support repayment performance.

POS Sales / Agency Banking:

• Prospect and onboard merchants for POS terminal deployment.
• Promote agency banking solutions and digital payment services.
• Train merchants on proper POS terminal usage and basic troubleshooting.
• Monitor terminal performance and transaction activity.
• Resolve first-level merchant complaints and escalate technical issues when necessary.
• Drive merchant activation and transaction growth.

General Responsibilities:

• Participate in classroom training, coaching sessions, and field assignments.
• Develop a strong understanding of banking products, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate sales records and prepare periodic activity reports.
• Ensure full compliance with KYC, AML, and internal operational policies.
• Deliver excellent customer service while representing the bank professionally.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve branch and organizational objectives.
• Continuously improve product knowledge and sales skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degreeor HNDin any discipline.
• NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
• Recent graduate with little or no prior work experience (0–2 years).
• Professional certifications are an added advantage.
