Market Relationship Officer (MRO)

Responsibilities
- Identify and acquire prospective customers through daily field visits, referrals, and engagement with traders, market associations, SMEs, and business owners.
- Promote and sell the institution’s loan products to eligible customers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with market leaders, traders, merchants, and small business owners.
- Generate leads, assess customer business activities and repayment capacity, and support loan application and disbursement processes.
- Manage assigned customer portfolios and maintain regular communication with borrowers.
- Follow up on repayment schedules, support collection efforts, and escalate overdue payments where necessary.
- Identify opportunities for repeat business, customer retention, referrals, and portfolio growth.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer information, loan applications, and performance reports.
- Meet daily field activity and monthly sales targets while complying with the institution’s policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum of an OND qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
- 1–2 years of experience in field sales, preferably in loan products, microfinance, fintech lending, or related financial services.
- Good knowledge of the assigned market or established relationships with traders, SMEs, and business owners.
- Strong customer acquisition, sales, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a field-based, target-driven environment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to maintain accurate sales records.
Salary
N100,000 monthly base, plus commissions and incentives.
