Role Overview
- Manage documentation, regulatory compliance, and customs liaison for efficient cargo clearance at our Apapa office.
Key Responsibilities
- Documentation Management: Prepare and submit Form M, PAAR, bill of lading, invoices, and packing lists.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to Nigeria Customs and trade laws.
- Customs Liaison: Handle inspections and resolve tariff classification queries.
- Duty Assessment & Payment: Calculate and facilitate accurate duty/tax payments.
- Permit Procurement: Secure permits from NAFDAC, SON, DPR, etc.
- Operational Support: Coordinate with shipping lines and haulage providers for timely delivery.
- Client Reporting: Provide regular status updates to clients and management.
Key Performance Indicators
- KPIs include timely duty assessment, accurate documentation, and reduction of demurrage costs.
Requirements & Skills
- Experience: Minimum 4 years in a Nigerian clearing and forwarding company.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or related field.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of HS Codes and regulatory processes.
- Software Proficiency: MS Office (Excel, Word) and automated customs systems.
- Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
