Sales Representative

Location: Jos, Plateau State
Reports To: Sales Supervisor/Management
Purpose of the Role
To increase sales of CNC products by identifying new customers, servicing existing customers, ensuring product availability, collecting market intelligence, and achieving monthly sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development
- Sell and promote CNC products to retailers, wholesalers, pharmacies, supermarkets, and other outlets.
- Identify and open new customer accounts.
- Achieve assigned monthly sales and distribution targets.
- Increase product visibility and market penetration.
Customer Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
- Resolve customer complaints and service issues promptly.
- Follow up on customer orders and deliveries.
Route and Territory Management
- Plan daily sales routes efficiently.
- Visit assigned customers according to a regular schedule.
- Ensure full coverage of allocated territories.
Merchandising and Product Visibility
- Ensure products are properly displayed in stores.
- Monitor stock levels and prevent stock-outs.
- Recommend promotional activities to improve sales.
Order Collection and Reporting
- Take customer orders accurately.
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
- Maintain records of customer visits, orders, and payments.
Market Intelligence
- Monitor competitor products, prices, and promotions.
- Identify new market opportunities.
- Provide regular feedback on customer preferences and market trends.
Debt Collection
- Follow up on outstanding customer payments.
- Ensure customers comply with agreed credit terms.
- Report overdue accounts promptly.
Qualifications
- Minimum of OND, NCE, or SSCE with relevant sales experience.
- Previous FMCG sales experience is an advantage.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to ride a motorcycle or drive is an added advantage.
- Valid driver's licence is preferred.
- Must be resident in Jos, preferably around Rayfield and surrounding areas.

- Monthly sales value achieved.
- Number of new customers opened.
- Number of active customers serviced.
- Collection rate on credit sales.
- Product availability in outlets.
- Route compliance and customer visit frequency.
- Typical Monthly Targets for Jos (Starter Level)
- Active customers serviced: 60–100
- New customers opened: 10–20
- Customer visits: 10-15 per day
- Sales value: ₦10 million–₦20 million per month
- Collection efficiency: Above 95%
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Saturday: Territory visits and customer follow-up as required.
