Head of E-commerce and Growth Marketing

Our client is an African fashion and lifestyle company building products, experiences and communities around African identity, culture and contemporary expression. The client enters its next stage of growth, the company is strengthening its commercial, e-commerce, operational, people-development, customer-experience and creative capabilities.

This person will build, manage and scale our client’s digital commercial engine. The role requires strong proficiency in Shopify, e-commerce marketing, digital marketing, growth marketing and the practical use of artificial intelligence to improve acquisition, conversion, automation, retention and revenue.

Key responsibilities

· Own the commercial performance and growth of our client’s Shopify platform.

· Develop and execute e-commerce, digital-marketing and growth-marketing strategies.

· Use AI tools to improve customer acquisition, conversion, retention and operational efficiency.

· Design and deploy digital assets, automations and AI agents that support e-commerce growth.

· Manage paid digital campaigns across Meta, TikTok, Google and other relevant platforms.

· Improve website conversion, customer journeys, merchandising and product discovery.

· Develop email, retention, remarketing and abandoned-cart strategies.

· Track traffic, conversion, CAC, ROAS, retention, customer behaviour and revenue.

· Work with sales, content, product and creative teams to execute growth campaigns.

· Participate in campaign planning, photoshoots, events and important physical team sessions.

· Build a scalable digital commerce system capable of supporting local and global growth.

Ideal candidate profile

· Strong hands-on proficiency in Shopify and e-commerce operations.

· Demonstrable experience in growth marketing, digital marketing and performance marketing.

· Practical knowledge of paid media, analytics and conversion optimisation.

· Strong understanding of AI tools, automation and AI-powered e-commerce systems.

· Commercially minded and highly focused on measurable revenue growth.

· Fashion, lifestyle, retail or consumer-brand experience is preferred.

· Online revenue, conversion rate and average order value.

· CAC, ROAS and contribution of paid channels.

· Customer retention, repeat purchase and abandoned-cart recovery.

· Website performance and customer-journey improvement.

· Number and effectiveness of AI-enabled systems and automations deployed.
