Job Summary
- We are seeking a skilled and experienced Peeling Mechanic to join our production and maintenance team in Ibafo.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of peeling machines and related production equipment, ensuring optimal machine performance, minimal downtime, and smooth production operations.
- Candidates with previous experience in a Cashew Processing Plant or food/agricultural processing facility will be highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and repair peeling machines and associated mechanical equipment.
- Carry out routine inspection, servicing, lubrication, and preventive maintenance of peeling machines.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out timely repairs to minimize production downtime.
- Troubleshoot machine breakdowns and identify the root causes of recurring mechanical problems.
- Monitor machine performance and ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.
- Perform corrective maintenance on mechanical components and production equipment.
- Inspect and maintain components such as bearings, conveyors, gearboxes, shafts, belts, chains, and hydraulic systems.
- Ensure peeling machines are properly adjusted and maintained to meet production requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of machine breakdowns, repairs, maintenance activities, and spare-parts usage.
- Identify worn or damaged components and recommend timely replacement.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum of OND, Trade Test, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 3–5 years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing, processing, FMCG, or industrial production environment.
- Proven experience maintaining and repairing peeling machines or similar food/agricultural processing equipment.
- Experience in a Cashew Processing Plant is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, chains, belts, and related components.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and fault-diagnosis skills.
- Ability to read and understand basic mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and maintenance instructions.
- Good knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.

Salary
N150,000 per month.
