Senior HR Manager (Manufacturing)

Job Summary

• We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior HR Manager to lead the company's human resources function and align HR strategies with business objectives.
• The ideal candidate must have substantial HR management experience in a manufacturing or related industry, with a proven track record of managing a workforce of at least 350 employees.
• The successful candidate will serve as a bridge between management and employees, foster harmonious industrial relations, resolve workplace conflicts, and ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and regulatory requirements.
• Experience engaging with government officials and regulatory agencies, including NAFDAC and the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with the company's business objectives.
• Advise management on workforce planning, organisational structure, succession planning, and employee-related matters.
• Serve as a link between management and employees, promoting effective communication, mutual understanding, and positive working relationships.
• Manage employee relations, resolve workplace conflicts, handle grievances, and oversee disciplinary procedures to maintain industrial harmony.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with government officials, labour authorities, and relevant regulatory agencies, including NAFDAC and SON.
• Oversee recruitment, selection, onboarding, and workforce planning for managerial, technical, administrative, and production-level positions.
• Lead, coach, and develop the HR team to ensure effective service delivery across the organisation.
• Develop workforce management strategies to support factory operations, production schedules, and business growth.
• Manage industrial relations and address workforce issues involving factory employees, supervisors, and other operational personnel.
• Review and improve HR policies, the employee handbook, and internal processes to support operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Nigerian labour laws, employment regulations, and statutory obligations.
• Oversee relevant statutory HR obligations, including pension contributions, PAYE, NSITF, ITF, and NHF, as applicable.
• Ensure effective management of employee records, attendance, shift schedules, leave, payroll inputs, and other HR documentation.
• Monitor HR metrics, including employee turnover, absenteeism, workforce costs, and performance indicators, to support management decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Professional certification from CIPM, CIPD, or an equivalent recognised HR body is required.
• 9 - 12 years of progressive HR experience, including at least five years in a managerial or senior HR leadership role.
• Proven HR management experience in manufacturing or a closely related industry is required. Experience in animal feed manufacturing, agro-processing, edible oil production, food manufacturing, or other agro-allied industries is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrable experience managing a workforce of at least 350 employees in a manufacturing or related operational environment.
• Experience managing HR operations within a factory, production plant, or other production-driven business.
• Experience engaging with government officials, labour authorities, and relevant regulatory agencies, particularly NAFDAC and SON.
• Demonstrable knowledge of Nigerian labour laws, industrial relations, statutory compliance, and HR best practices.
• Experience across multiple HR functions, including recruitment, workforce planning, performance management, compensation, and HR operations.
• Proven ability to lead an HR team and manage a diverse workforce comprising management, administrative, technical, and production employees.
• Experience supporting organisational development, employee engagement, workforce productivity, and talent retention.

Salary
Open to Negotiation (N1,000,000 - N1,300,000 monthly).
