Back of House Supervisor

Job Summary

• The Back of House Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen and back-of-house area.
• The role involves supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food is prepared according to approved recipes and quality standards, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene, and ensuring smooth and timely food production.
• The ideal candidate must have supervisory skills and also be able to cook and support the kitchen team when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of kitchen and back-of-house staff.
• Ensure food is prepared and cooked according to approved recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
• Cook and assist with food preparation when required.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety.
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and proper storage.
• Manage kitchen inventory and report shortages when necessary.
• Train and guide kitchen staff to ensure efficiency and compliance with standards.
• Ensure the safe use of kitchen equipment and proper adherence to operational procedures.
• Work with other teams to ensure timely and efficient service.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess an SSCE or relevant qualification.
• Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred.
• Must have practical cooking skills and be able to prepare meals according to standard recipes.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience will be an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Salary
N120,000 - N130,000 / month.
