Mechanical Engineer (Consultancy) - Gas-Fired Power Plant Construction Project

Job Description
- We are seeking a consultancy-level Mechanical Engineer to provide engineering consultancy, construction supervision, and installation oversight on a gas-fired power plant project.
- This isn't a routine site role. you'll independently evaluate designs, contractor methodologies, and installation quality against specifications, codes, and HSE requirements, with the authority to challenge non-conforming work.
Key Responsibilities
- Review drawings, P&IDs, and vendor documentation for compliance and constructability
- Supervise installation of rotating and static mechanical equipment (turbines, pumps, compressors, boilers, piping, skids)
- Lead alignment and inspection work shaft/coupling alignment, shimming, run-out/vibration checks
- Oversee mechanical completion, testing, and commissioning readiness
- Manage contractor compliance and HSE oversight on site
Qualifications
- B.Eng / B.Sc Mechanical Engineering (Master's an advantage)
- COREN / MNSE registration strongly preferred
- Substantial power plant, EPC/EPCM, or oil & gas construction experience
- Gas / steam turbine and Balance-of-Plant exposure highly preferred
- Laser alignment experience an advantage.
