JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an accomplished and commercially driven Group Chief Sales Officer (GCSO) to lead the Group's sales and business development function across a diversified portfolio spanning Oil & Gas, FinTech, Hospitality, Engineering, Agro-Allied, Project Management, Media, and Security Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing enterprise-wide sales strategies, driving sustainable revenue growth, expanding market presence, and delivering commercial excellence across all business units.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute a unified Group-wide sales strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
- Lead revenue generation initiatives across all business units.
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities within Nigeria and selected international markets.
- Lead, mentor, and manage high-performing sales leadership teams across the Group.
- Establish sales targets, KPIs, and performance management frameworks.
- Develop strategic partnerships and negotiate high-value commercial contracts.
- Collaborate with CEOs and Business Unit Heads to maximize cross-selling opportunities across the Group.
- Analyse market trends, customer insights, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
- Oversee enterprise key account management and customer retention strategies.
- Prepare periodic sales forecasts, commercial reports, and strategic recommendations for Executive Management and the Board.
- Champion digital sales transformation through CRM adoption and data-driven decision-making.
- Represent the Group at industry events, investor meetings, and other strategic engagements.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 15 years progressive sales and business development experience, with at least 7 years in an executive leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience leading sales within diversified organizations or multiple industries.
- Strong commercial experience in one or more of the following sectors: Oil & Gas, Financial Services, Engineering, Hospitality, Agriculture, Media, or Security Services.
- Proven track record of delivering multi-billion-naira revenue growth.
- Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and strategic planning capabilities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
- High level of business acumen with the ability to influence executive decision-making.
