Trainee Accountant(s)

Overview

As a Trainee Accountant  you will provide support to both internal staff and external clients and will work predominately with our Accounting team.

Part of your role will involve assisting in the day-to-day financial activities, these will include but are not limited to data entry, month end VAT Returns and management accounts and year-end financial accounts and tax returns.

As a trainee Accountant you will be supported by the organization with resources and learning tools on your path to becoming a Chartered Accountant.

Our Trainee Accountants are expected to be fully qualified Chartered Accountants within three years of working with us.

Your Responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with financial and management accounts preparation for group Accounts
• Assisting with managing client expectations and deadlines
• Assisting with the preparation of personal and business tax returns
• Carrying out bookkeeping activities including journal postings and ledger reconciliations
• Processing client records accurately using  accountancy software.
• Preparation of VAT returns and management accounts
• Assisting with general administrative duties including meeting and greeting clients, filing, answering the telephone and supporting the Accounts team to meet deadlines as required.

Requirements and skills

• Hands-on experience with accounting Software would be an added advantage
• Track record and capacity for continuous personal and professional development
• MS Excel or Google Sheets skills  would be an added advantage
• Must posses very strong theoretical knowledge of Accounting concepts and principles.
• Experience with general ledgers and preparing end of financial year Accounts would be an added advantage
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or part qualification in   Accounting Professional Qualifications would be an added advantage.
