Job Responsibilities
As a Health Information Management Officer, you will be responsible for the following:
- Oversee the organization and maintenance of electronic and paper health records.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of patient information.
- Assign appropriate codes to diagnoses and procedures in compliance with coding guidelines.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure coding accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Analyze health information data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
- Generate regular reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
- Stay informed about changes in healthcare regulations and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Implement quality assurance processes to maintain data integrity and accuracy.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, administrators, and other staff to ensure seamless information flow and efficient record-keeping processes.
- Provide training and support to staff on health information management best practices.
Qualifications
- Interested candidates should possess an HND / Bachelor's Degree with 1-5 years experience.
