Position Summary:

The Finance & Admin Officer is responsible for managing all financial transactions, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, handling vendor and rider settlements, and overseeing administrative operations within AreaFoods. This role supports smooth day-to-day business functions by maintaining financial records, preparing reports, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The ideal candidate must be organized, trustworthy, analytical, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance & Accounting

Manage daily financial transactions including payouts to vendors and riders.
Maintain accurate bookkeeping records (sales, expenses, invoices, commissions).
Track revenue, commissions, and settlement reports from the AreaFoods platform.
Reconcile payment data from Paystack/Flutterwave with internal records.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports for management.
Assist in budget planning, cost control, and cash flow management.
Handle petty cash, staff reimbursements, and operational expenses.
Ensure compliance with financial policies and accounting standards.

Vendor & Rider Settlement

Process daily payouts to vendors and resolve payout-related issues.
Monitor same-day payout requests and verify eligibility.
Coordinate with the Operations and Support teams to resolve disputes or adjustments.
Maintain transparent documentation for auditing and reporting.

Administration

Maintain office supplies, equipment, and facility management needs.
Organize company documents, contracts, and agreements securely.
Support HR with staff attendance, payroll data, onboarding documents, etc.
Handle administrative communication with vendors, partners, and service providers.
Ensure all licensing, registrations, and business documents are up to date.

Operations Support

Assist the Operations, Logistics, and Support teams with financial or administrative needs.
Support new city launch preparations with logistics and documentation.
Contribute to process improvement to enhance financial efficiency and reduce errors.

Qualifications & Skills:

OND/HND/B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
Proven experience in finance or administrative roles (experience in tech, logistics, or food delivery is a bonus).
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets.
Experience with POS/online payment systems (Paystack, Flutterwave, MoniePoint, etc.) is an advantage.
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
